Consistent throughout each story in Not One of Us anthology is that there are no green men, humanoids or aliens like we traditionally think of. These are truly 'alien' beings from the dark creatives minds of each writer (and lets face it way more likely to be what we might encounter in real life!)/5(20).

Not one of Us, by D. Spruzen, is the first book in The Flower Ladies Trilogy. Its better suited to the cosy mystery genre. It doesnt follow the technical structure and foreboding progression toward the climax typical of the psychological thriller genre.

It is a well-written, solid pick if youre looking for a dialled-back murder mystery/5. Not one of Us by Spruzen is described as a psychological suspense and the first of a trilogy of books (the Flower Ladies Trilogy).

Whilst the book is great, and does its job well, I think if youre looking for a real psychological suspense you might be left a little disappointed. It isnt, for me personally, a classic suspense filled book/5.

"The Best of Not One of Us" pushes opens the door to the minds of some of those `out there' folks who give us a glimpse into lives we can not imagine ourselves living, but even so feel vaguely and uncomfortably too familiar.

Main characters include angels, aliens, ghosts, tulpas (oh stop complaining and just go look it up), dimension/5(2). Not One of Us is about people (or things) out of place in their surroundings, outsiders, social misfits, aliens in the SF sense—anyone excluded from society for whatever the reason.

We’d like Not One of Us to consider the problem of “otherness” from every possible fictional angle: horror, SF, fantasy, noir, slipstream, Western, mainstream, whatever.

We’re open year-round to submissions, so keep ’em coming. Book 1, Not One of Us, was a thrill to read in more ways than the obvious it's quite the thriller.

Every other chapter allows the reader to get rooted into the mind of the killer. The clues are carefully planted everywhere.

Of course, the result is quite a lovely bouquet of murder, /5(7). 19They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

20But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. The book's title "Not one of us" at first glance as an individual who has grown in the homeland with an Iranian nationality conveys a totally discriminatory and conspiratorial narrative with a terrible end however, author's unintentional master message is very hearty for /5.

I’m not sure whether spoilers apply to a book based on such a widely reported news story, but to those that are considering reading this book soon, I have included some detail in this long review. '‘One Of Us: The Story Of Anders Breivik And The Massacre In Norway'’ was a difficult and immersive read/5(1K).

Not One of Us Human beings are probably as tribal in instinct as any species could ever be. At any particular moment, any particular one of us can identify ourselves as being a member of not one, not a dozen, but likely several dozen tribes of one sort or another. Widely acclaimed as a masterpiece, Åsne Seierstad’s One of Us is essential reading for a time when mass killings are so grimly frequent.
